Well, a quick glance through the award list will have anyone convinced that the winning movie of the year will be none other than No Country For Old Men. Take a look at the awards under its belt: Best Picture, Directing, Male Actor in a Supporting Role, Writing (Adapted Screenplay). Doesn't it remind you of last year's The Departed? Both films won practically almost all the same awards, except for Male Actor in a Supporting Role where The Departed won Film Editing instead.
Another perceivable note I've picked up from the list is that The Bourne Ultimatum has swept a lot of technical awards, 3 in actual fact. That should leave Paul Greengrass gleeful at his technical team for their success and possibly getting a leash on them for potential get-togethers in future projects. And to think most of us were so mesmerized by Transformers' visual and sound effects that we thought they will be the one sweeping the technical awards instead?
With the end of The 80th Oscars, do come on down to the silver screens to take a look for yourself and provide your own opinion on the above award list.
