MuHu~!
It's been quite a while since MSR covered some serious quality gastronomy, proves a point: that I've not been enjoying bon appetit!
Upon entering, the waitress seated us and asked whether we were first-time patrons. Here's the reason why: Nihon Mura sported a unique dining concept. Diners were required to take a walk down to the 'mura' (village in Japanese) and pick from the variety of gourmet available.
All you have to do is to pick the corresponding ice-cream sticks of the various items you desired and deposit them into your table's assigned basket as seen in the photo above. The staff would then collect the sticks and process your orders accordingly.
Dining necessities present at every table
Dining ambience at Nihon Mura
Assorted sushi items going @ $0.99 per plate
Ebi Katsu (Fried Breaded Prawn) @ $3.50
Fried Tofu @ $1.50
Shogayaki Pork Don @ $9.90
Soft Shell Crab @ $6.90
Age Ebi Don (Fried Prawn Ricebowl) @ $8.00
Asparagus Bacon @ $5.90
Hotate But. Yaki (Butter Scallops) @ $5.90
.
Variety will be vast if you patronize Nihon Mura with a larger group of kakis. By doing so, you not only get to enjoy a better variety of food-spread, you also get to even out the dining cost per head! (MuHu~!)
.
MSR Recommendation: The ricebowl items are rather filling, so for the small-eaters you might want to share them instead of going for a ricebowl each. Must-trys from the above featured items are - Asparagus Bacon & Hotate But. Yaki. Watermelon juice @ $2.50 is noted to be the popular cold beverage choice of most diners and for those who don't mind hot beverages, the rose tea is a good option. It's at $3.00 per teapot for 2 persons and to sweeten the good deal, it's refillable!
.
I shall be posting again.
