Trip Down The Traditional Lane of Culture II

MuHu~!

Another jog down that lane of memory once more, I find myself in a strangely familiar environment. It's more of a neighbourhood in fact. It's traditional and nostalgic when I revisited one that highly resembles the Bedok Blk 216 Food Centre & Wet Market from my childhood! I can still remember how I'm so addicted to the lor-mee, prawn mee and handmade dim-sum there as a child who spent his first sixteen years of his life residing in the Bedok North Ave 2 neighbourhood...

Those were the days...

Snapping back to the present, that heartland place I've visited on Tuesday is actually the Hougang Ave 1 Food Centre & Wet Market situated across the Hougang Ave 1-Lorong Ah Soo Community Centre! It's great to visit such neighbourhoods that infuse so much traditional reminiscence of childhood into me. It's like old-time memories seeping through the pores of your skin entering your bloodstream and feeling it as if it's like a part of you.

Wet market! This section of the market sells 'fish & co' (MuHu~!)

On the left it's the miscellaneous wet items, and on the right it's the dried goods

Up the escalator I go! And I find myself in a food heaven!

As usual, the food centre sees its share of the senior citizens during a weekday

Da Zhong Cafe selling some really good coffee! Highly Recommended!

'Lor'-ong Ah Soo 'Lor'-Mee ($3.00 Big Bowl Option)

'Long' Prawn Mee ($2.00)

Da Zhong Cafe Kopi ($0.80) (Nice~!)

Handmade Siew-Mai ($0.60 each)

I shall be posting again.

Chenkuieh~!
