White Dog Cafe

MuHu~!

I've had yet another fantastic and meaning trip today, it's so good to fill life with such wonderful events isn't it? First stop, Shell Pulau Bukom Oil Refinery. It's not like you get to tour this restricted island anytime you want to, thus I'm very honoured to have a friend of mine to issue this opportunity for an exclusive tour by grace of his Dad's hospitality to me. I've learnt so much from the tour and his Dad, who'd been very informative and amiable throughout the whole trip around the refinery. Thank you so much Conrad~! Well, since I can't take any photos over there due to its restricted status, I shall not be sharing more. Instead I'm going to share my night at White Dog Cafe Vivocity!

We headed down to Vivocity's White Dog Cafe situated at level two to visit a friend of ours who used to be a Signaller in our company after the Bukom tour. We caught up for a while at the entrance and decided to dine there to spend more time catching up as well as to show some moral support for Lionel. How nice of him to usher us to a nice comfortable spot at the back with cushion seats and a spectacular night view of the sea and Sentosa. However I guessed we sort of interrupted the romantic moment for the couple sitting next to our table, but they continued with their conversation without minding us, thankfully.

Conrad wanted to order the USA Wagyu Burger with Foie Gras, but that would rip 35 dollars off his wallet. He promised to order that one day when his wallet dispensed unlimited cash. Finally, we decided on Fish and Chips and ordered myself a Bailey's Coffee while he ordered a kiwi drink. I cannot seem to recall the name for that drink, I'm so sorry!

We sat at these seats, only the view was of a night scenery

Bailey's Coffee, an alcoholic coffee beverage @ $7.50

Kiwi Drink @ 4.50 (I've forgotten its name, MuHu~!)

Fish & Chips @ $15

They gave us this huge bottle of iced water, apparently enough to last us the whole night!

Thanks to Lionel, we'd enjoyed our night tremendously at White Dog Cafe~!

He even got us a cake to bring home after dinner~!

Upon further probing, found out that it's actually a chocolate muffin cake~!

Our beverages arrived first, thus we took time to review our drinks. Conrad's Kiwi Drink sported a vibrant colourful look, and it contained several 'fish eye' like chewy orbs. My Bailey's Coffee was specially prepared under the kind hospitality of Lionel. He had the staff to add double shots of Bailey's in it, so I had a hell of a drink! It was strong and I simply loved it~! When I provided my opinion on the drink, he explained that usually it came in a single shot serving. I was wondering maybe he could suggest the cafe to include an option on the menu for a double shot version just to satisfy those like me who prefer their Bailey's Coffee strong?

Finally! Our Fish & Chips were served and many eyes from the other patrons focused on our main course. The serving was huge and everyone was shocked to see that, including the both of us. We knew that it was the works of Lionel once again, MuHu~! The main course came with two fillets of fried fish, chips, salad with dressing, tar tar sauce and the cafe's speciality chili sauce.

I shall begin with the fish. It was fresh, juicy and tender on the inside, crispy and aromatic on the outside. Sensational~! This had to be one of the best fish fillets I've ever tasted since Mad Jack's at Jalan Kayu~! The quality of the fish fillet had bowled us over completely. When you accessorised every mouthful of fish fillet with either the tar tar sauce or the speciality chili sauce, it improved the taste greatly. Personally, I preferred the chili sauce. You'll have to ask for the chili sauce should you visit White Dog Cafe for this course though. The chips were of above average standards, taste-matched and paired the fish adequately. However nothing I found after savouring it set it apart from the chips that other places offered, seemed like the chips weren't meant to dominate the main course. Salad offered a classy look to the dish and provided a healthy balance to the sinful meal. The salad was mixed with a dressing I couldn't recognise, it tasted sour but appetizing no doubt. For those of you who will be visiting the place, the Fish & Chips comes highly recommended by me~!

The chocolate muffin cake I brought home's being stashed in my refrigerator, so I never try it out. I'm afraid I can only find out tomorrow~! Once again, tonight's meal will not have been so fulfilling without the generous hospitality of Lionel. Thank you so much~! I wish you all the best in the Dubai's Raffles Hotel job application, let's hope you get to go for it~!

Here's my conclusive opinion for the above:

Fish & Chips (Nice~!)

Taste: * * * * 1/2

Value: * * * 3/4 ($15 for an excellent main course, fish fillet's fantastic~!)

Total: * * * * * * * * 1/4 (8.25/10)

Bailey's Coffee (Alcoholic)

Taste: * * * *

Value: * * * 1/2 ($7.50)

Total: * * * * * * * 1/2 (7.5/10)

.

Nice~! = Must Try!!! Highly Recommended!!!

Please note that the above review opinion belongs to mine alone and do not represent similar results for others.

I shall be posting more.
