MuHu~!
For the fans of the hot series Prison Break out there, you should be familiar with Wentworth Miller's character Michael Scofield. Notice his trademark fashion wear featuring in the show, which is also what Gap hired him to don on - "Khakis with Attitude". If you like the look Wentworth sports, you will probably be interested in getting that pair of chinos. Especially the beige or khaki brown ones.
.
Besides Gap, labels like Banana Republic, Esprit and Dockers San Francisco have shown interest by featuring chinos in their recent collection. However, chinos have not always been favoured by the chic fashion trend-followers. Chinos, once known as 'uniform of rebels', has a history behind it.
Derived from the Spanish term for Chinese, chinos were once popular in the U.S. during the 1900s after the military soldiers returned from the Spanish-American War in their military cotton pants made of twill fabric. These pants were originally fabricated in China, and thus the fabric and the pants were named chino. When I checked up the net, Wikipedia said "chino trousers are currently considered the pinnacle of haute-couture and are worn by fashionable young men across the western hemisphere".
Seems like the chino culture is being slowly adopted by the youth, and fashionistas should be seriously looking into expanding the latest chino collection designs. Chinos are great for both work in the day and chill-outs at night, thus making it a flexible piece of fashion. Have a look at some photos of chinos:
Chinos coming in different cuts like 'slim-cut' & 'flat-front'
Commonly accessorised with canvas shoes such as those from Converse
Hope you like my fashion opinion and maybe you might find some ideas for your next new look! Please note that the above opinion belongs to mine alone and do not represent those of any professional fashionistas' or trend-setters'.
I shall be posting more.
