MuHu~!
Gearing up for some upcoming physical endurance events this year, it's that time of the year again where I set up challenges against myself in the aspects of mind and body! First stop, SAFRA Sheares Bridge Run & Army Half Marathon 2007 (a.k.a. Singapore Bay Run 2007)!
I shall be attempting the half-marathon(21.1km) on 26th August 2007, which is this Sunday. The highlight of this year's run lies in the finishing point, which is set to be at Marina Promenade: the NDP Floating Platform! Well, at least something new to look forward to. The finishing points of all the local marathons so far are at the Padang. Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon will be ending at the Padang, yet again. (Sigh...)
Take a look at the Race Pack that I've collected over this weekend:
My race tag stating my number and category The Championchip that will be tied onto my shoe for time-recording purposes
Event T-shirt front design
Event T-shirt rear design
It will be interesting during the marathon if I participate with a running cause. Not only will it aid in cheering yourself on psychologically during the marathon, it provides a meaningful purpose to your act of endurance and perseverance. Some people may run for charity, while some are running to challenge and break their personnal limits. This year, I've decided on mine.
I run for everyone who loves me
.
It will include anyone who cares for and/or loves me. My family, friends and loved ones. I shall be marking the names of some significant personnel in my life on myself, carrying their names along with me throughout my run. Everytime I look at these names, it shall serve to inspire myself and spur me on to perform physically.
.
Wish me luck for this Sunday.
.
I shall be posting again.
