美食美客(Mei Shi Mei Ke) by Kopitiam has just started business in Hougang Mall! Located at the 4th storey of the shopping mall, its brings along a retro-oriental theme in terms of food and ambience to the heartland customers and the neighbourhood. Food Chain food court, which is situated just one storey above, seems to be slightly affected by the presence of its new competitor. Customer response's apparently poor when I paid a visit.

Since it's a weekday, the crowd consists of mostly 'ah gong ah ma', uncles & aunties...

Notice the oriental lighting decoration and the dialect songs backdropping the windows

I went with the choice of Fried Hokkein Mee, what can be more traditionally oriental? MuHu~!

Teochew Song
Cantonese Song. Seriously it's long~ My Mum explains that it's due to the long-winded nature of the Cantonese. MuHu~!
