New Movies This Week~!

Gone are the times when theatre screening sessions are totally dominated by box-office blockbuster hits like Spider Man 3, well at least for now. Finally, the blockbuster season is subsiding for awhile before Transformers takes over at the end of this month. Speaking of which, Transformers Director Michael Bay is the major attraction for me. I'm an admirer of Bay's previous works such as Bad Boys, Armageddon, Pearl Harbour and The Island. Well, you can say that I'm pretty much excited about his upcoming version of Transformers!

The current box-office hits are Ocean's Thirteen & Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. I've watched both and I'm so delighted to know that 8 movies are set for silver screen releases this week! Here's what is new this week: Hot Fuzz, Grindhouse: Death Proof, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Nancy Drew, Eye In The Sky, Surf's Up, The Flying Scotsman & Darwin's Nightmare.

According to media sources on the Internet, apparently Grindhouse will not be showcasing its double bill of movies, namely Planet Terror & Death Proof. Instead, the first movie Planet Terror is canned and the local cinemas will only be screening Death Proof. Damn! As the name 'Grindhouse' suggests, lots of explicit sex & violence can be anticipated! Not to forget mentioning that Quentin Tarantino's helming the direction of Death Proof!

I shall be trying out some of these movies and return with an opinion on which of these films are ticket-worthy. For your information, try heading down to GV Vivocity if you are catching The Flying Scotsman. A short Mandarin/Hokkien film Ah Ma of approximately 14.5 minutes will be screening before The Flying Scotsman, and that is only exclusively for GV Vivocity!
