First, it's the devastating economic crisis, followed by that sad Rojak poisoning incident I managed to read off the papers over the shoulders of some poor white collar gentleman who seemed to be more interested in the Classifieds (probably trying to revive from a recent mass retrenchment exercise) onboard the MRT. I thought the ever-changing cursed weather was the end of bad things to come, but that was before the Newsreel on the tube shouted Swine Flu repeatedly over the past few days.
Let's put an end to the previous paragraph of bad news and allow me to direct you to something that can brighten up your day, or should I say the coming long weekend this week?
Beerfest Asia 2009 is hitting us from 29 May to 03 May at the Singapore Flyer! With live music sets (including a live performance by Vertical Horizon!) and endless flow of over a hundred types of beer (including beers that will be available in Singapore for the first time!), this truly transcends beyond the typical chilling crowd where it caters specially for beer enthusiasts and live music lovers. You can expect to taste beer brewed in places like Chile, Switzerland and Mexico, which will allow you to boast to even avid pub frequenting fans of the exotic beer experience you enjoyed over the weekend. Live music fans will find themselves rejoicing when they know that some of Timbre's favourite artistes like The Goodfellas, Jack & Rai with EIC, and 53A will be jamming the event high up in spirits!
Don't like what you've just read so far? Fret not for there's also the Victoria Bitter National Arm Wrestling Championship on top of the usual bar sports like Pool and pinball machines. Visit the official site for more details if you're on for a good weekend filled with booze and music. Just do us a favour: Don't tip off those Tiger-wielding heartland uncles on this.
Have a great weekend and stay safe.
