April: Movie Reviews - Made of Honour

So everyone thinks I'm obsessed -- obsessed over Patrick Dempsey who stars as 'Mcdreamy' Derek Shepard in Grey's Anatomy. I've been going through this GA marathon for weeks now and seriously, I'm addicted. Men in blue and what seemed deadly robes, never looked so yummy before (I guess that's Hollywood for you).

So it's no surprise that I caught 'Made of Honour' over the weekend. And it's also NOT surprised that I drooled all over myself looking at Patrick Dempsey (Shoots, should have brought the damn bib!). Seriously, can anyone tell me how can one man look so fu*king good? Ok, let's get to the movie.

Made of Honour is a 90 minutes rom-com that tells a story of how Tom (played by Dempsey), a 24/7 flirt finds out that he's actually in love with his bestfriend Hannah (played by Michelle Monaghan) after all this time, when she left for Scotland for 6 weeks and went mad without her. Tom sworn to tell Hannah how he felt towards her and wants to be with her. But uh-oh! Hannah came back to NY with a Scotland husband-to-be duke! This is the fun part, Tom being Hannah's bestest friend was asked to be her MAID of honour and Tom is only doing it only to hope make Hannah realise he is the man for her. Yada yada, go watch the movie.

What I like best about the film is the choice of cast. (in all honesty, no biasness =/) Michelle Monaghan played the role effortlessly well, she was beautiful yet not in the superficial Hollywood way. She is by standard, definitely NOT the prettiest girl around Beverly Hills but she brought out the 'girl-next-door' qualities in her that I could easily relate to anyone around us. Michelle started her career as a model and has been on runways in Milan, Singapore, Tokyo and Hongkong!

And Patrick Dempsey was also the best man for the role because he's like a charm machine switched on all the time! The way he laughs, the way he walks, the way he looked into her/your eyes -- this is the kinda guy to play Tom.

Overall, the movie was pretty fun. Predictable like any rom-com but I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I did. Watch out for the guy in the tight short shorts.

Maybe there really is a place for romantic comedies. Only if every guy look as charming as Dempsey. -swoons!-
