MSR: Gastronomy - Changing Appetites

Who says you don't get to enjoy life like you usually do at the weekends, during the weekdays of work and studies? Not true if you believe in reaping what you sow, reward yourself with a midweek dinner after work or school! Take that extra step to deviate from your usual routine and head on down to a place where you can relive your taste buds. Don't torture them and let them stay dull from Mondays to Fridays by subjecting them to repetitive canteen or food court fares, you should pamper them as much as you can, since they will in turn spice up your hectic weekdays!

So you're already anticipating in mind: "Where's MSR gonna bring us for dinner today?"

That's right! Changing Appetites is located at level 1 of Marina Square, in line with other mid-range eatery giants like Cafe Cartel and Swensens. First glance at the restaurant from the entrance attracted us with their pop-art colour scheme and red cushioned sofa seats (WooHoo~!) dotted along the interior outline of Changing Appetites facing the Shopping Mall.
'
Upon receiving the menu, I took a quick scan around the place and noticed a promotional poster that read: 50% off Sliced Cakes Every Tuesday. I gave my dining kaki Roger a dirty smirk and pointed my eyes towards the poster's direction. 'WuHua!', exclaimed good old Roger.
'
Wasting no time at all, I flipped to the Burgers section and immediately decided to take on the biggest challenge that the restaurant offered - The Barbarian Burger! Roger decided to go for some fishy main course and went with Fish & Calamari. As for the sliced cakes, we're told that only the sliced cheesecakes are up for their promotion. We took a deep thought and went with Rum & Raisins Cheesecake as well as Oreo Strawberry Cheesecake.

Boasting 2 slices of marinated ground beef patties, 1 slice of BBQ chicken thigh and 1 slice of grilled fish, together with a couple of slices of cheddar cheese. This burger totally shocked me as I felt overwhelmed by the carnivorous scheme of this course! This $20.90 main course came served with fries and is unlike any other mega burgers I've ever encountered. The star attraction of this dish is none other than its beef patties, it's as aromatic and tasty as Heavens bless me!

The Fish & Calamari came looking typical ever since the star appearance of the Barbarian Burger. However, 3 pieces of golden-fried battered fish with calamaris at $15.90, it wasn't a bad deal at all! Roger enjoyed his dish, though he had in mind a thought that said that my choice was a better & more wuhua one.

We could hardly store the 2 main courses in our stomachs, but we're still eager to try out our dessert menu for the night.

Fortunately, the sliced portion of the cakes wasn't too big for us to handle. Going at 2-for-$4.90 as part of their Tuesdays promotion, we simply couldn't ask for too much, could we? In Roger's opinion, the Oreo Strawberry Cheesecake was over a tad bit too sweet for him. The Rum & Raisins Cheesecake fared better, in my opinion as a R&R fan.

MSR Recommendation: The Barbarian Burger of course! It comes highly recommended and simply a must-try for all burger-lovers. For the small-eaters, you might want to share it with a kaki. Cheesecakes serve as a bonus icing-on-the-cake going at a good price only on Tuesdays
