MuHu: Beauty - Fragrance for Christmas

Christmas is slowly drifting nearer as we perform our preparation to welcome its arrival on the 25th December! It's time to go SHOPPING for all the gifts that you hope will please your family, friends and loved ones, so... have you given it a serious thought about it yet?

If you've plans for Christmas, such as Christmas Balls, Bashes or Parties, or if you already have that dream date with your crush or lover all laid out, why not consider getting your date and/or yourself a new fragrance for Christmas? A new fragrance will definitely redefine the way others and yourself see your date as his/her scent will ooze a totally fresh sense of character and desirability when everyone takes a whiff at their scent when they sashay by! After all, fragrance as gifts are only common during Valentine's, Birthdays and Christmas. Three opportunities a year, I bet you didn't get one for your date's birthday and for Valentine's either! So, what are you waiting for?

Before we commence with the special feature on Christmas fragrances, allow me to elaborate on the following fragrance concentration levels that will be involved in today's agenda:

Eau de Parfum (EDP): Contains approx. 10-30% aromatic compounds

Eau de Toilette (EDT): Contains approx. 5-20% aromatic compounds

By default, the higher the concentration level of the perfume, the higher the intensity and longevity of the scent sported. However, do note that the aromatic compound amount varies in the various perfume brands and collection. (For example, an EDT from one brand can be stronger than an EDP from another brand)

Ladies

We shall begin with the Ladies and here are the featured fragrances I've specially chosen in mind of the Christmas season. There's something for every lady to wear for that special date with that special someone. Take your pick & see for yourself how the Gentlemen will lose their composure over getting access to your cellphone number or even better, access to your bedroom if they're daring & adventurous!

Fresh - Citrus
Covet by Sarah Jessica Parker (EDP)

Seriously, I was rather skeptical about this 'yet-another-by-celebrities' fragrance upon hearing of its recent release. I tend to be wary of such fragrances as I've experienced enough previous nightmare encounters with celebrity collections. However, this is something I'll totally recommend after trying it out! The top note is freshly citrus, which slowly trancends into the underlying sensual and feminine note that I found myself getting attracted to as a Gentleman. Ladies, this is a MUST TRY.

Oriental - Soft
Narciso Rodriguez - for Her (EDT)

This soft oriental scent is soft upon the first whiff, slowly giving way to a warm and sensual tone to the scent. And I mean really slowly. There is another similar sister fragrance in the for Her collection which is pink in colour. However, I feel that this should be the outstanding winner of the two. A safe bet for the Ladies, where it should be well-liked by and acceptable to all.

Fruity
Incanto Shine by Salvatore Ferragamo (EDT)

The only phrase I can come up with to sum this up is "Sweet, Fruity Sweet!" First whiff of the fragrance gave me an extremely happy moment where my mood was elevated instantly, hence I like to refer this to as the 'positive, playful' scent that reminds me of ladies with the bubbly, lively and hyper personality. I like this pretty much, especially since I feel myself wanting to socialize even more with a Lady sporting this scent. She might prove to be that key to happiness! Highly recommended for Ladies with the positive & playful attitude in life.


Special/Exotic
Ange ou Démon by Givenchy (EDP)

Just by a look at the name of this fragrance, one will expect to be in for an interesting ride upon a whiff. Ange ou Démon, Angel or Demon? It sports an extreme mixture of floral elegance and woody sensuality, thus making a Lady intriguing to any Gentlemen who happen to be within her vicinity. I can feel a sense of intriguing mystery that awaits to be unfolded within a Lady who uses this fragrance. Keeps me curious and eager to know more about & WANT more from an Ange ou Démon scented Lady, what more needs to be said?

Men

Here's what I've carefully picked for you Gentlemen out there to help you heighten & boost your masculine appeal and seduction scale during this festive season. Have a wonderful Christmas guys!

Woody - Spicy
F pour homme by Ferragamo (EDT)

Spicy, musky & woody. The traditional masculine smell of woody scent worn by the classic Gentlemen. It's a fragrance that allows one to imagine class, luxury and a romantic candlelight alfresco dinner under a beautiful full moon in the courtyard. Think George Clooney, he may be over his prime years but never out of class and always a machismo. Perfect for that idealistic elegant romance at the Christmas Ball.

Modern - Exotic
Tokyo by Kenzo (EDT)

Inspired by the colour theme of the neon lights-lit twilight cityscape of urban Tokyo, it is one fragrance that really caught my eye during its recent release. Tokyo's tagline: Explosive Yellow (ginger, lemon, grapefruit), Luminous Green (shiso, maté absolute, green tea accord), vibrant red (pink pepper, bitter orange accord) & Intense Darkness (guaiac wood, cedar, clove, nutmeg). What a sophisticated scent combination! It smells of mystery & uniqueness, so you will never be forgotten by any Lady who has savoured your scent at the party! Only for men with strong and unique personalities!

Hugo Boss - XY for Men (EDT)

Another interesting collection that caught my eye (yet again) is the HUGO XY EDT. It is released together as a duo with its female counterpart HUGO XX recently. HUGO BOSS has always been an excellent master in masculine fragrances, so the XY stands out in my view amongst the couple (not that I love to break them up!). HUGO XY is yet another sophisticated scent as it revolves around the complicated theme of seduction and rivalry ever present between the two sexes. Very creative work from HUGO BOSS. This deserves to be in every sophisticated man's fragrance wardrobe!

Fresh - Aquatic Cool
Paul Smith - Story (EDT)

A new fragrance in the Paul Smith fragrance line-up released recently. Being one of the highly-profiled new entrees in the fragrance market who showcased its first fragrance collection for men & women in 2000, Paul Smith is branding Story by being clean, simplistic, minimal with a twist of surprise in this fabulous tale. It's aquatic cool for that lazy afternoon tea with the Ladies, or a picnic by the fountain at the meadowy park. For the simple yet sophisticated gents who love to accompany their ladies for sleazy afternoon shopping!
