Places of Interest: Ann Siang Hill

As a Singaporean, will I be able to declare that I have truly been to every single spot of the island? Taking some time to ponder, I have reluctantly concluded with a sad answer: No. Understanding this excruciating fact, the MSR team travelled down to Ann Siang Hill this weekend for today's agenda.

Ann Siang Hill is located conveniently next to the well-known Maxwell Food Centre. The nearest MRT station is Chinatown, where you will have to alight and take a five to ten minutes stroll. Ann Siang Rd is also linked to Club Street, so the regulars who frequent the bars and pubs there should be familiar with the place.

The shophouses along Ann Siang Rd have recently been given an uplift, where some have been redeveloped into boutiques and home decoration concept stores. I found the Fred Perry laurel store there as well!

After checking out the wonderful Fred Perry boutique, I went to a nearby Scandinavian home decor concept shop - Style: Nordic. It hosts mostly Scandinavian concept furniture as well as some apparels and footwear. For the fashionistas, you should be elated to hear that this store holds the exclusive rights to Nudie Jeans! With the Scandinavian lady boss showing me around, she suddenly asked if that's my first visit to the store and if I's a local. Upon nodding to both questions, she replied: "Oh~ You've finally found us here!"

Upon leaving the cluster of shophouses, I ventured up towards Ann Siang Hill Park:
