Ichiban Sushi @ Plaza Singapura

MuHu~!

Hi y'all~! I'm finally back from my school's FOC Camp, it's been a week with loads of fun and surprises for me! Well, it's been almost a week since I've updated this blog site haven't I? Not to worry, I've some photos from last weekend to share with you~!

I found myself patronizing Ichiban Sushi at Plaza Singapura last Sunday for dinner before catching Transformers. It's a little strange that I've never tried dining there as I've always passed by the sushi place several times ever since its opening. We're seated next to the sushi conveyor belt and I slowly browse through the different moving plates, I noticed that the items offered here differed from other sushi chains. I actually see a plate of sushi with chicken floss as a topping!? The sight of some unique sushi offering really got me excited as I was eager to try them out~!

A very hungry Man

The sushi conveyor belt next to me dishing out several varieties of items

Black Sesame Mochi (Under $1.90 coloured plate item)
Salmon Sashimi ($9.00 a-la-carte)

Soft Shell Crab Sushi with Crispy Tofu Skin Roll (Under $1.90 coloured plate item)

Lobster Mayonnaise Sushi (Under $1.90 coloured plate item)

Crab Sushi (Under $1.90 coloured plate item)

Unagi Yangawa Set served with a bowl of rice, Miso Soup and slices of watermelon ($13.90)

Chicken Katsu Curry Set served with Miso Soup ($11.90)

We started off by ordering main course sets, a Unagi Yangawa Set and a Chicken Katsu Curry Set. My Lady wanted her share of fishy indulgence, thus we added a Salmon Sashimi item to our orders. As we're waiting for our food to be served, we sipped hot Ocha and decided to grab a few sushi items from the conveyor belt for starters. First we took a Black Sesame Mochi plate down, there's one for each of us to try out. Soon after we finished that, our salmon sashimi was served. I don't take raw fish, thus I began venturing once again into the conveyor belt items. MuHu~!

I took down a plate of Soft Shell Crab sushi, a Lobster Mayonnaise sushi and a Crab sushi. Let me tell you, they're fantastic! For $1.90 per plate I can actually enjoy soft shell crab, lobster and crab? From that moment on, I've decided to abandon some other mediocre sushi chains like Sakae Sushi and would patronize Ichiban Sushi more often! Never had I been so thrilled to see sushi at its best, the innovative and unique sushi items at Ichiban definitely won my heart over!

While I's admiring the pretty sushi items on the conveyor belt and smiling like a fool to myself, our main course sets arrived. The Unagi Yangawa Set came with a bowl of rice, a bowl of Miso Soup and a serving of watermelon slices. Great unagi they served as they tasted sweet and tangy, thus when eating it with rice the unagi provided the aromatic flavour to complete the meal sensation! The Chicken Katsu Curry Set included a bowl of Miso Soup. Let me tell you, this Set's a winner! The curry was full of mixed ingredients like carrot cubes, potato cubes, onions etc. It went very well together with the rice and chicken cutlet slices. On the other hand, the chicken cutlet was crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Great quality food they serve!

Here's the conclusive review for the above:
